Side Notes | September 27th

Side Notes is a weekly round up of everything and anything that catches our short attention span over the past week, coming to you live and direct every Friday.

Environment

Greta Thunberg

Greta Thunberg is shaking the world of politics with her environmental activism and straight talking. It started with her skipping classes on Fridays to make her point and now millions around the world have been joining in. Regardless of your views of youngsters skiving off school, it can't be argued that a positive attitude towards our environment from an entire generation is what our existence on this planet needs. I can't think of a better adversary to Trump than a 16 year old girl. Read our blog about Waste Reduction here.

MUSIC

Basement - Disconnect

As a 35 year-old man who has always felt a little bit awkward in society and loves a bit of guitar-led emotional music i remember when Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World came out and i suddenly felt a sense of belonging. Fast forward 18 years and i finally discover Basement who have been churning out songs i'd love since 2009. Apologies about my late arrival to this party. This is one of my favourites.

Travel

Lizard Point

The UK's most Southerly Point others breathtaking views, a stunning yet simple coastal walk and a village with more ice cream than the freezer section in Asda/Wallmart/Coles (apply to wherever you're reading from!).

TV

El Camino - Netflix

I'm not in the minority when it comes to Breaking Bad. No TV show in my eyes has ever got better and better and ended when it was at its very best. This trailer literally send shivers down my spine. And...do i spy Walt and Mike in this trailer...?
