Beards can be a touchy subject in today's world, what was once considered a pure sign of masculinity has become a trend under fire. It’s just like Marmite you either love them or quite simply you don’t, if beards are not your thing then this article is probably not for you. Still reading? Awesome, with a great beard comes a lot of sculpting and ‘manscaping’ there is the old myth that with a beard you simply just let it grow. Although there is some truth to that statement there is also a lot of time and dedication needed to tame the wild beast.

There are a lot of products out there to use when it comes to beards but which brands can be trusted? Beardbrand. Created in 2012 by Eric Bandholz, Beardbrand started as a way of building a community of like-minded individuals, using social media as a platform to reach out to an audience, Eric shared his knowledge and tips into growing a beard. After attending a Startup Weekend event Eric met Lindsey Reinders and Jeremy McGee the trio kept in contact and vowed to start a business together. Eric was contacted by The New York Times for help in a story based on beard care products from this experience the Beardbrand store was born.

Beardbrands vision as Eric states:

“We were tired of beards being left to kitschy, cheap products. We felt these items are the reason many people think that beards are a fad. Beardbrand wants to bring high quality products for beardsmen. Our grooming products use natural products and we want our customers to have a positive experience with their beards - crappy products don't help in that regard.

In addition to providing great products and service, we want to change the way society looks at beardsmen. There are still organizations who require men to shave, and there is negative terminology used towards beardsmen that still lingers in our culture. For instance, the term "clean-shaven" should be "completely-shaven" or "beardless."

These changes take time, but progress is being made. Recently Disney eased their policy on beards and other companies are joining suit. We can't do this alone, and we need you to help us change society.”

So what separates Beardbrand from the rest? They take pride in what they do. Their products are all natural, they work to provide the most natural and safe ingredients to keep both skin and hair at its healthiest. Its not about how many products can be sold but more about how products will perform, this allows Beardbrand to be transparent with their customers and show the full ingredients of their products online before a purchase is made. Beardbrand are that dedicated to customer needs that they provide information on ingredients that are derived from animals, vegetarian and vegan.

There are so many products to choose from at Beardbrand, there’s literally everything a beard needs ranging from beard wash, utility balm, beard brushes, and moustache wax to name a few. Where to start? It’s simple, take their online quiz which will determine which beard is best suited to your lifestyle. Personally, the spiced citrus styling balm is a personal favorite, the aroma of cloves and vanilla is incredible. The balm is also brilliant at taming your beard and smoothing out frizz and leaving that respectable shine.
